We as the Baptist Church Leipzig would like to introduce ourselves. For this purpose we hope you will find any information you may desire on this webpage. (Information about our Church)
As Christians in a Free Protestant Church we avow ourselves to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Baptist influence is especially expressed in the practice of believer’s baptism.
The aim of any work in our congregation is that people find faith, based on a personal relationship to Jesus Christ
and that people who already believe are supported and confirmed in their faith.
As congregation we understand ourselves as a community in which we try to live based on biblical standards.
Furthermore, we live for the glory of God and want to be a welfare for the people of Leipzig.
The Baptist Church Leipzig belongs to the "Bund Evangelisch-Freikirchlicher Gemeinden in Deutschland"
(Alliance of Free Protestant Churches in Germany) which is internationally part of the
European Baptist Federation and the Baptist World Alliance.
Existing since 1881 the congregation in Leipzig is one of the oldest Baptist churches in Germany.
Every Sunday our services are attended by approximately 200 believers of all ages. During the service the children have their own children’s service.
In our congregation there are different groups in which we live our faith together.
For example there is a youth service "eXPerience", a gathering for elderly people,
events for teenagers (SundayNightFever) and young adults (Chocolate Chili) as well as
various small groups.
Also in ways of making music there are several groups which enrich our meetings,
for example the youth choir, the brass ensemble and the rock band
"Rejoice".
Our chapel is more than 100 years old, thus meanwhile it does not correspond to current requirements. Under the direction of a building committee we plan to build a new church building (further information). If you desire to financially support our building project you are gladly invited.
